Photography is a form of relaxation, reflection, and re-centering
Up until the summer of 2020, it never occurred to me that film photography is still possible. Camera stores generally do not carry analogue film cameras. My interest was piqued when my brother-in-law showed me the Nikon camera I gave him several years past; how he cleaned it and made it usable again. Then he told me that there has been a resurgence of film photography in recent years and that I should look into it since I love taking photos during my travels.
I decided to get myself a Russian-made Zorki, a 35mm rangefinder, and a Leica 3C and M3. Not for long, I moved into the medium format with the 1947 Rolleicord and then to a 1961 Rolleiflex TLR, which has become my favourite camera to date.
I have used different film stocks along the way aand developed the film roll using Cinestil Df96 monobath. The negatives were then scanned using an Epson v600 and brought into Adobe lightroom, thus marrying the analogue process and the digital world experience together.
This site chronicles my first adventure into Film Photography.
